    S/W Memory Hole Remapping

    In order to allocate a specific memory range to the I/O controller, usually a memory hole is created, that is, an area within the memory range that is reserved for exclusive use by I/O devices. The remapping allows to move this hole beyond the 4GB memory address boundary. Keep in mind that the 4 GB refer to virtual memory address space.
