    "צ'יפסט" (CHIP SET) הוא שם כולל לכלל שבבי הסיליקון("ג'וקים" בשפת "עמך") שאתה רואה על לוח האם.

    עכשיו: גשר צפוני ודרומי זה ממש לא אותו רכיב ונמצאים בשני מקומות שונים(ממש כמו הקטבים של כדוה"א ;D) על לוח האם.

    תפקידם: לקשר בין כל רכיבים במחשב ככה שיפעלו בדיוק כמו שאתה רוצה (לא תמיד עובד).
