Hello everybody!

I have a PC with dual-boot of XP and Vista. Usually, I run my games on XP, and I also use XP most of the time for almost everything else. However, some new games will have directx 10, and Halo 2 will only run on Vista!

So, I want to optimize Vista for maximum game performance. I dont care about disabling Aero or doing everything I can to maximize performance, even if Vista will look bad.

What are your tips to push the most out of vista?

I know that vista runs games slower than XP, but sometimes you have to do it....

My question is: How to make vista use less CPU/RAM so that games perform better?

OR... any other tips for Vista gaming optimization?

XP חרא של מערכת הפעלה.

תשמע זה הכל תלוי ביחס למחשב שאיתו אתה עובד, למשל במחשב שלי הקודם לא יכולתי פשוט לעבוד עם ויסטה וזה היה מחשב לא רע בכלל(ATHLON X2 3800, 7800GTX,1GB RAM)ובניגוד אליו במחשב הקיים אני לא רואה הבדל בעבודה בין XP לויסטה, אין מה לעשות, צריך חומרה חזקה בשביל לנצל את ויסטה.

צריך חומרה חזקה בשביל לנצל את ויסטה.

או חומרה חזקה שויסטה תנצל

נלקח מאחד הקישורים לויסטה שזרקתי קודם:

Gaming - For single threaded games(or apps) only! First, set the .exe to use a single core affinity. Then launch the program in high priority. On single core systems, high priority could present problems since it would dominate the system, sometimes even taking precedence over mouse input, etc, and lead to instability. On a dual core system, when a game is high priority on one core, it essentially takes it over, and the other core is always there to handle everything else. This prevents instability, and prevents nearly any other program from using the gaming core, so everything is fully efficient. Depending on what you run in the background, this can definitely get you a few more fps and smooth things out a great deal.

WAR MACHINE - היית עובד עם 2 גיגה ולא היתה לך שום בעיה

(הויסטה מריץ כמו הXP משחקים חוץ מכמה "יחידי סגולה" שלא תואמים אותו ולכן יש לי גם XP בDUAL)

עד ה2 גיגה - ההבדל היה עצום , אחרי - קשה לשים לב.

מה שכן העבודה היום יומית (דפדוף , סרטים וכו) הרבה יותר נוחה בויסטה בעשרות מונים.
