    VLK - Volume License Key - מדובר למעשה ב serial של רשיונות volume שבד"כ ניתנים להתקנה על מספר ענק עד בלתי מוגבל של מחשבים.

    VLM - Volume License Media - מדיית ההתקנה של רשיונות volume.

    Enterprise Edition - לכל מערכת הפעלה יש כמה גרסאות בד"כ. ל Windows Server 2003 הייתה גרסאת אנטרפרייז שמיועדת לחומרה יותר חזקה ולכמות יותר גדולה של משתמשים, למשל. גם לויסטה יש גרסאת אנטרפרייז שמיועדת בעיקר לארגונים.

    OEM - שם של רישיון של מערכת הפעלה שמגיעה preinstalled עם מחשב חדש. כלומר לא Retail (אתה לא קונה בחנות אריזה, עם מדיה וסריאל - אלא זה מגיע מותקן מראש).
