first plz excuse the dumbass questions

complete noob about these issues (yes ive read the stickies)

all i basicly want is a nice lcd screen with speakers that will be good for games

i basicly play different hl games since atm i got a gf4mx and it will be a while until i get a new pc

the lcd screen i got atm Samsung syncmaster 931b white

in samsung website i can only find 931b black, dunno if there is a difference :\

according to the specs it has 8ms and

tried playing some hl, and it seems ok but im not sure if the 931bf or 931c will be better with 2ms and whatever...

my question is

how come i cant play with 1024x768 res @85hz ?

i mean it cant even handle 1024x768 @60hz

i figured that with a new monitor 1024x768 would have 100hz at least

fps suffers with bigger/wider resolutions than that...

so... what to do ?

do i need a better gfx card that can handle large resolutions? (well ofcourse i need one for better games but im haulting the new pc buy atm, old mag crt is broken so decided to buy the lcd monitor now )

is there an lcd monitor out there with speakers+low ms+good for games+movies and can handle an old gfx card?

מסכי LCD לא מושפעים מקצב רענון ככה שזה לא משנה אם תעבוד על 60 או על 75HZ

ואני ממליץ לפזול לכיוון של מסך רחב
