Gigabyte 7n400 support fo 1Gb DIMM's?

Hello,

I own a Gigabyte GA 7n400 (not Pro or Pro 2 or anything else) and its manual says that it supports

up to 3Gb. It has 4 memory slots.

I've bought 3 DIMM's of 1 Gb each to discover that the PC won't boot with them.

I now see that the manual says that it only supports up to 512Mb DIMMS.

If so - how can I install 3 Gb on it, if at all?

Do I read the manual right about this?

If it doesn't support 3Gb - what's the maximum configuration I can expect?

4 DIMM's of 512Mb each?
