כל עוד אתה לא טוען לזיכרון תוכנה שתופסת את כל הגודל של הזיכרון אז אין צורך בכלכך הרבה זיכרון.

לדוגמא אני עובד בעבודה עם תוכנה תלת מימד SOLIDWORKS היה לי זיכרון 1 GB במחשב. באיזה שלב עבדתי על קובץ שתפס מעל גיגה זיכרון RAM אז העבודה בתוכנה פשוט זחלה כי פה נכנס לתפקיד הזיכרון הוירטואלי שהוא בעצם ההרדיסק והוא יותר איטי מהRAM.

אז הוסיפו לי ל- 2 GB ואז המחשב התחיל לזוז.

אבל למשתמש ביתי לא נראה לי שיש צורך. אולי במשחקים שיש להם למשל מפות ענקיות בגודלם שתופסות זיכרון עצום. ביננו לא נראה לי שיש משחקים כאלה עדיין.
