הקדמה:

כאשר עושים Arrange Icons By Type ווינדווס ממיין לפי ה-File Type, ולא לפי ה-File Extension.

ניתן לראות את ה-File Type של קובץ באמצעות מסך ה-Properties שלו.

לדוגמה, אצלי קובץ MP3 מוגדר מטיפוס Winamp media file

וקובץ PDF מוגדר מטיפוס Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Document

ולכן קובץ ה-PDF יבוא לפני הקובץ MP3 במיון, פשוט מעצבן!

משהו מקביל ל-dir /oe של דוס.

יש אולי Registry Patch שמשנה את ה-Arrange Icons By Type לעבוד לפי ה-Extension ולא לפי ה-Type?
