A problem with LiteStep

hello Gentlemen (and Ladies if present)

i'm in quite a pickle... after reviewing your magnificent works in the desktop thread, i've developed a mighty itch to have such a lively looking desktop myself. So , i went and DL'd something called StepLite. i was sure it was nothing more than your average XPstyle, however, as i've discovered and many of you know, it seems to be something else .

i have no idea what i'm doing... for starters i can't write in hebrew (heaven know's why) secondly i've lost any ability to control what i really wanted in the first place-the desktop visual preferences...

i can do everything (open prog. access files, create files etc.) except controling the "backround" preferences that is display, icons etc.

note, i'm not a new user to windows, however , i have absolutely no experience with open-source and and actually having to type a command to make something happen (i'm more of a point&press).

Can anyone tell me what excatly am i to control LiteStep, for the life of me i can't find the preferenes or anything else where i can input changes....

ahh, i believe i have to AUSTERITY skin (or what ever it is) installed.

i really would like to learn how to use it, so could you be so kind as to show me around it (or at least point me to the nearest guide which makes sense-the ones in google make the assumption that i'm able to follow beyond the initial hello....)

thank you all very much...

P.S: if there exists an alternative to open-source (i mean , something that requires more pointing than typing) that will do roughly the same ... i would much appreciate if you'll point me to it...

thank you.
