computer crashes

Ok Guys, I need your help urgently!!!

A few weeks ago, I started to get blue screen crashes with KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE errors

After a few crashes, the computer stopped booting, and sometimes the BIOS didn't even recognize the Hard-Disk (It's a WD SATA HD)

I took it to the shop, and they said that a virus changed the HD from NTFS to RAW, and they did a low-level format and everything was fine

3 weeks have passed, and now I'm starting to get the same thing!!!

I did a memory diagnostic - OK, I did a HD diagnostic (both symantec and WD apps) - it's OK also. I always have firewall and antivirus. Also, the problems are not sudden, but they gradually get worse and worse. I really don't think it's a virus!!

What could the problem be?

I can't do that because I can't access the HardDisk...

Yesterday, I managed to restore a previous ghost image that was stored on an external drive. I didn't format the C: before that, but I thought the ghost will erase the entire C: and put the image. Everything worked fine for a few hours, and then the computer crashed again...

HELP!!!

Thanks!

Hi Guys,

OK, here is the current situation:

A friend told me to try and update the BIOS

I downloaded a bios update from ABIT (I have NF7-S motherboard), wrote all the BIOS information on paper, and updated the BIOS. After Rebooting, I went into the BIOS and chenged it according to my notes.

About 12 hours passed, and my computer didn't crash!!!

So I have a few questions for you:

1. Do you think it could have been the BIOS who did all the problems from the start?

2. in my old BIOS, I had 2800+ written on CPU speed (I have AMD Athlon), when I wanted to put that back in, there was no option! It only goes until 1800, and then you can put "user specified" which is what I did. The windows seems to recognize the motherboard OK. Do you think it's a problem? Do you think my computer will run slower now? How can check the actual CPU speed?

Thanks guys!!!! :D
