[ltr]I had a problem with the Abit AN7 board, it kept giving "CMOS sumcheck error" and reseting the BIOS on cold boots. different BIOS versions didn't help, neither did more voltage or lower FSB freq. well after about 3 months of owning the board I thought up of a possible cause for the problem. it turns out to be the motherboard battery, quite interesting since it's a brand new board. anyway I check the battery using a multi meter and gave less than 0.1v instead of 3v. I haven't had time to see if it fixed the problem (it's my mom's comp), but I'm sure that will be the end of that.

I thought I'd let you know, just in case it'll happen to anybody. gotta say it's one of the hardest computer related problem I have even encountered.[/ltr]
