תמונה ראשונה של סמארטפון חדש מבית SE מעלה ספקולציות ושמועות רבות ברחבי הרשת. האם לסמסונג ול-HTC יש ממה לחשוש?

אופנת מכשירי הליבה הכפולה מגיעה ככל הנראה גם ל-Sony Ericsson. לאחר שכל יצרניות החומרה הגדולות (סמסונג, LG, מוטורולה, HTC) כבר השיקו את מכשירי הדור הבא המבוססים על מערכת ההפעלה האנדרואידית, גם SE החליטו שהגיע הזמן להיכנס לשוק הלוהט. בתקופה האחרונה אנו עדים לשמועות אודות ה-XPERIA duo, הסמארטפון החדש של החברה וזה שאמור להוביל אותה ישירות לזירת הליבה הכפולה. היום אנו מקבלים הצצה לסוג של חומר פירסומי המציג את ה-duo בצמוד ל-arc המוכר לכולנו וניתן בהחלט להבחין כי מסך המכשיר החדש יהיה ככל הנראה 4.5 אינץ' והוא מעט גבוה ורחב יותר. גם שיתוף הפעולה עם יצרנית המעבדים, חברת Qualcomm, עתיד להימשך ולא נתפלא אם נראה בקרבו צמד מעבדי 1.2GHz, בדומה ל-SGS2 של סמסונג ול-Sensation של HTC. בכל מקרה, הגיע הזמן שנראה את SE מציגה לראווה את התשובה שלה לתותחים הכבדים. בשלב זה אין פרטים נוספים אודות חומרת המכשיר ותאריכי הכרזה, אבל אנחנו נעדכן בהתאם.

New photo of the Sony Ericsson Xperia duo emerges

Another photo of the Sony Ericsson Xperia duo, coming from some kind of a promotional material, has surfaced over the weekend. As usual Sony Ericsson is not too worried about leaked handsets, and that's a character trait we certainly appreciate.

People are expecting this to be the company's first dual-core handset, and the seemingly edge-to-edge display on the sides will come as an added bonus, plus some reshuffling in the Sony Ericsson Android UI overlay. If it is indeed dual-core, we can expect Sony Ericsson to have continued its partnership with Qualcomm, which supplied the 1GHz single core chips for the Android handsets it has outed so far this year.

Thus performance should be on par with HTC's dual-core handsets, like the HTC Sensation, or the HTC EVO 3D. Not the best in benchmarks, but a solid delivery overall, and far more than what you'd get with a single core - see our "My dual-core is better than your single core" article for an overview.

The new photo is displaying the Sony Ericsson Xperia duo next to an Xperia arc, and now we can confirm that the screen is definitely bigger, it might even be 4.5", considering the 4.2" display on the Xperia arc. This doesn't necessarily mean a much bigger footprint for the phone, given the edge-to-edge display, but the Xperia duo does seem slightly taller and wider than the Xperia arc.

Rumors around the Internets peg this phone for Q4 release, and also that it will have an 8MP camera with Full HD 1080p video capabilities, supposedly the same Exmor R sensor of Sony, but it's all in the realm of speculation so far. Sony Ericsson is slated for an announcement at an expo in Singapore on Wednesday, which might include some upcoming handsets, hopefully the Xperia duo too.

המכשירים הולכים ומקבלים כוח עיבוד, העניין זה עד כמה הוא באמת נצרך חוךץ ממשקים יפים יותר ותמיכה של HD ודומיו.

בעיקר נראה ש-SE עולה שוב על הגל, וזה תמיד טוב שיש עוד חברה שנכנסת חזרה לתחרות רצינית.

מה נסגר עם היצרניות הללו ? למה המסכים כלכך גדולים ?!

זה אמור להיות מכשיר נייד, ≥"4.3 כבר לא נוח בכיס. הגודל האידיאלי לדעתי הוא "3.7 , אפשר לסבול עד "4.

^^ יש משהו במה שאתה אומר, זה באמת כבר גדול מידי

לזכות סוני אריקסון יאמר כי היא גם משקיע במכשירים קטני מידות, ומבחינת גדלים תציע מגוון רחב יחסית.

פיזית (לפי התמונה), הוא לא נראה כ"כ יותר גדול מה-Arc (המסך גדול יותר והמסגרת דקה יותר).

אני בעבר הייתי נעול על מסך 3.7 וחיכיתי שייצא מכשיר High End עם מסך שכזה זמן לא מבוטל.

לאחר שנמאס לי לחכות קניתי את הגלקסי 2 ותוך יום התרגלתי לגודל שלו (העובדה שהוא דק מאד עזרה).

אכן נראה גם שסוני מתחילה לאמץ, ראשונה אגב, את עניין המסגרת הדקיקה שיוכל לשמור על גודל סביר ועדיין להציע מסכי ענק.

על טעם וריח...

ובלי קשר אין לדעת האם מדובר בעיצוב סופי, מה איכות החומרים וכדומה.

רק אציין את הסוני RAY שגם הושק לא ממזמן, פלאפון קטן ומעניין מאד מבחינת חומרה.

הRay מאוד דומה ביכולות לArc, אבל המשקל שלו ...

עושה חשק לאחד כזה, נראה לי שמכשיר באזור ה100 גרם היה הT68i שלי לפני עשור.

לא רק המשקל גם הגודל הפיזי הקטנטן והעובי, יחד עם מסך 3.3 נשמע לא רע בכלל, משהו טוב עובר על סוני אריקסון..

Ray? אני דווקא התלהבתי מה-Xperia Active..מעבד 1GHz על מסך קטנטן, מיגון ממים חול ושאר רוצחים פוטנציאלים..אם רק המחיר יהיה אטרקטיבי, מדובר במכשיר שעשוי להיות מעולה לדרישות שלי.

Sony Ericsson unveils the Xperia ray, Xperia active and txt

Sony Ericsson has just unveiled three new additions to its mobile phone portfolio at the Communicasia show in Singapore. We've got the Xperia ray and Xperia active full-touch Android smartphones as well as the QWERTY-packing txt.

Sony Ericsson Xperia ray

The Sony Ericsson Xperia ray is an old friend of ours previously known by its code name, Urushi. The 9.4mm slim smartphone weighs in at just 100 g and packs a 3.3" BRAVIA screen of FWVGA resolution (854 x 480 pixels).

Sony Ericsson Xperia ray comes with an 8.1 megapixel autofocus camera with an Exmor R backlit sensor, capable of capturing 720p video. It's only got 300 MB of user-available memory but the microSD card slot lets your expand that by up to 32 GB.

As is to be expected, the Xperia ray connectivity departments is well geared with dual-band (900/2100 MHz) or tri-band(850, 1900, 2100 MHz) 3G/HSPA, quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, microUSB and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Sony Ericsson Xperia ray will be available globally in selected markets from Q3 (our previous tipster mentioned the end of September) in four distinct colors - black, gold, white and pink.

Sony Ericsson Xperia active

The Sony Ericsson Xperia active has SPORTS written all over it (proverbially!). It's a dust proof and water resistant Android smartphone with scratch-resistant screen with wet finger tracking support. Wait what? Yeah, its touchscreen would work just fine registering your sweaty fingers during workouts. Awesome, right? Wait to hear the rest of the specs.

The Xperia active runs on a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and packs a 3-inch Reality display (with Mobile BRAVIA Engine) of HVGA (480 x 320 pixels) resolution, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p video recording, 320MB internal memory and microSD card slot (with 2GB pre-installed card).

The Sony Ericsson Xperia active has a bag full of connectivity tricks too - there is Wireless N with DLNA support, quad-band GSM and dual (or tri)-band HSPA network support, GPS with aGPS and digital compass, Bluetooth, FM radio with RDS and a 3.5mm audio jack is onboard.

The Xperia active runs on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will come with lots of pre-installed sports apps and is compatible with ANT+ technology for real-time heart rate monitoring much like other Sony Ericsson handsets.

As we said, the Xperia active is dust proof and water resistant and can swim in up to 1 m of water depth for good half an hour. The screen will successfully track your fingers if they are wet from sweat or otherwise. But there is more, Sony Ericsson has included lots of goodies in the retail package to help your phone in your active life - an extra exchangeable back cover, detachable sports ear hooks for the handsfree headset, a wrist strap for your Xperia active and an arm band case.

Sony Ericsson Xperia active will launch in Q3 this year with the pricing yet to be announced.

Sony Ericsson txt

The last announced phone is the Sony Ericsson txt. It's a socially-oriented feature phone with 2.6-inch (non-touch) display, a full hardware QWERTY keyboard, an SMS shortcut for instant texting option and a "Friends" app showing the social updates of your top five friends.

The info on the Sony Ericsson txt is pretty scarce so far. The only other available detail is the availability - Q3 this year.

LiveDock and LiveSound

Sony Ericsson has also announced two new accessories compatible with the latest generation of Xperia devices - the LiveDock (a simple docking station for charging) and LiveSound. The latter is a new tangle-free hi-fi headset with a key, which can control some compatible apps (like you can control the iPod/iPhone player with the single key on its headset). Both accessories will become available

in Q3 too.

ה-Arc דווקא זכה ברשת לביקורות מאוד חיוביות בכל הנוגע לעיצוב. למעשה יש לא מעט מבקרים שכינו אותו "הסמארטפון היפה ביותר שקיים"...
