I would seriously pass on the series and wait until Q2 of 2011 and get the 7xxx series, which will be built on the new 28nm fab process. Until the 28nm fab is launched you are essentially paying money for the 5000 series with a few tweaks, that in reality aren't going to make that huge of a difference. This is the same reason I kept my GTX 275 and am skipping the Fermi chipset, 4xx series, from Nvidia, the new fab process will be launched for them as well around Q2.
