שלום אנשים...

שבוע הבא אני הולך להתחדש במחשב חדש. הבעיה היא שאני יותר מדי זמן לא מעודכן ואני לא יודע כבר מה נחשב טוב ומה לא.

המחשב הוא למשחקים כבדים, סרטים ולמעט OC (אני לא ממש מומחה בתחום אבל אני אשמח ללמוד).

ראיתי את המחשב הבא במבצע ב-TMSFOX:

והוא נראה לי די טוב... הבעיה היא שאני לא יודע כרגע מה עדיף AMD או אינטל, Nvidia או ATI.

don't bother yourself too much with the AMD/Intel question. they're pretty even as far as performance. AMD is slightly better for games, Intel for applications, and AMD is a little cheaper but you can find cheap intel motherboards for a little less than the cheap AMD motherboards. all in all - it's a wash.

you're right about the CM690 case not being quiet, here's a build made for silence:

Corsair has the quietest PSUs around, the NZXT HUSH is a very nice & cheap "silent" case, the shuriken by all accounts is barely audible, and at the cost of some performance you get the samsung "green" HDD, which runs slower and quieter than the usual samsung HDDs, which are very quiet to begin with, so you can put in a regular samsung 500GB if you're afraid for performance.

the palit sonic comes with a very quiet and effective cooling solution, so it shouldn't cause any problems with either heat (a regular problem for quiet PCs) or noise.

I'll try to talk you through it

the first build gives you a strong dual core while the 2 other build give you quads, and as you've mentioned isn't tuned towards silence.

the 2nd build is mine, and I've already explained it in length.

the 3rd build plays on the CF formation, which might create problematic amounts of heat in a tight foam case like the NZXT HUSH. also, to accommodate the CF the PSU was degraded and a slower quad was selected.

the scythe kama cross is very similar to the shuriken, and if I'm not mistaken they use the same fan. both will do.

the main difference between these builds is in approach - both other builds went for more graphic power which inevitably meant paying for it someplace else: either with less processing power, less silence, more heat, lesser PSUs and so forth.

so I still like my build, the only thing I might accept is a change from the Shuriken to the kama cross, which is really meaningless, or the change from samsung's green HDD to the regular, which is an option I've presented you with earlier.

1. ה-OCZ Vendetta 2 לא עדיף על ה-Scythe Shuriken ?

yes the vendetta is better. also costs more, and if all you're looking for is silence than the shuriken should do the trick. if you also want massive cooling capabilities than you can buy the OCZ

2. הלוח אם מספק ל-OC? והאם בכלל צריך OC כדי למצות את פוטנציאל המעבד או שהוא מספיק חזק גם בלי?

very strong quad, but by all reports it overclocks well. I'm not sure about which AMD chipset overclocks the best, this chipset is pretty basic and I really have no idea as to its OC capabilities. you can try the overclocking forum for the answer.

3. NZXT HUSH או CoolerMaster sileo 500 מבחינת שקט מול אוורור? (בנוסף לשקט חשוב שהמחשב לא יבער)

on paper they're pretty much identical. of the 2 I've had a chance to work with the HUSH so I prefer to recommend what I know. as for airflow I point you to this review:

4. הספק SeaSonic 500W SS-500ET לא עדיף על הקורסייר שהבאת?

actually corsair bought the design for its power supply from seasonic and improved them a little, so they're very much alike. your system will run at about 300W, so both should do the trick. we're going with a 500W+ PSU because PSUs tend to work best when close to 50% load

5. 4870 או Gainward nVidia GeForce GTX260 Golden Sample 896MB 216SP?

basically it's a toss-up, some games will do better with NVIDIA and some with ATI, I think when it comes to theoretical power there might be the slightest edge to the 260 w/216, but the games you play might run better on the 4870 ATI drivers, which makes the theoretical performance difference meaningless. I personally chose the Palit 4870 because of it's cooling system, which not only cools well but is also very quiet, which is a rarity when it comes to graphic cards.
