תגידו, MAC זה רק כתובת, או שזה בעצם איזה חלק במודם? ואם יש כתובת MAC לכל רכיב תקשורת- זה אומר שיש כתובת MAC גם בטלפונים/פלאפונים וכאלה?

MAC זה ראשי תיבות של Media Access Control

אתה מתכוון ל MAC Address שזאת כתובת בת 48 ביטים שמשמשת בחלק מרכיבי התקשורת כתלות בפרוטוקול בו הם עובדים. לא לכל מכשיר ולכל רכיב תקשורת יש כתובת MAC.

כל כתובת MAC היא יחודית ומחולקת ליצרני החומרה ע"י גוף מרכזי.

לטלפונים סלולריים אין MAC יש משהו אחר שנקרא ESN, לטלפון Skype יש MAC כי הוא מתחבר לרשת Ethernet.
