יש לי שאלה בקשר ל- Standard PC ו- ACPI:

אחרי התקנה מחדש של WinXP גיליתי שכשאני מכבה את המחשב הוא לא נכבה לבד ז"א מופיעה ההודאה: "It is now safe to turn off your Computer"

אחרי חיפוש בפורום ובגוגל הבנתי שהבעיה היא כתוצאה מכך שהמחשב מוגדר כ- Standard PC.

מה שעוד הבנתי זה שככול הנראה הוא מוגדר כך כתוצאה מליחיצה על F5 (בטעות, במקום על F6) ושם כנראה המחשב הוגדר כ Standard PC

ועכשיו לשאלה (אחרי הסיפור ;D)

האם אני יכול להגדיר את המחשב שיתמוך ב ACPI , מבלי לפרמט מחדש? אולי דרך REPAIR ?

נ.ב. כל ההגדרות של ACPI בביוס מאופשרות.

שם תבחר NEXT ותחפש להוסיף ACPI

מה שאתה צריך זה לעלות עם הדיסק התקנה של וינדוס ובצע את השלבים הבאים:

Win XP Setup says its checking hardware. Soon after, at the bottom of the screen, it offers the opportunity to press F5. (If offered the chance to press F6, press F5 instead! Do this at once, and cross your fingers! Apparently, sometimes it works; sometimes not. It may be in the timing of exactly when you press the key. You may have to try repeatedly, or try pressing F5 and F6 repeatedly. When successful, youll see a two-paragraph instruction that begins, To specify additional SCSI or other mass storage devices. Press <ENTER> to brings up a small window that appears to contain only two options, but, in fact, contains more (use the arrow keys to scroll up). If this windows doesnt appear at this point, you need to start over and do more pressing of F5!

When the small window does appear, use the up-arrow to choose Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI). (Its the third from the top of the list.)

Next, you may see that two-paragraph SCSI/mass storage instruction again. If so, press <ENTER>. Many drivers will load, then you should see the Win XP installation screen.
